CSSVista: One Great CSS Editor!
February 5, 2007
I had a chance to play around with a new CSS editor i found online today. I added it to the Free Resources section of PureWebAnalytics for your viewing pleasure! I wanted an editor specifically for CSS editing. I’d tried the FireBug plugin which does allow you to edit CSS in a live environment but i felt as though something was missing until i found CSSVista (no relation to Windows Vista) and it answered some of my prayers.

So why do i think CSSVista is just the greatest thing since sliced bread? Well a few reasons actually…
- It works on Windows - I am still using a windows environment for my development currently. I’ve been looking at getting a MAC… maybe in the coming year but for now its windows all the way
- It’s FREE - You heard right. All you need to do is download and install it and you should be good to go!
- It previews pages in both IE (Internet Explorer) and FireFox - I am sure they’ll release a boarder range of browsers as time moves forward but for now this is great!
- It’s a Live Editor - There is nothing better then being able to see changes as you make them and this baby let’s you make them!
CSS is a great little language for positioning, style and creating order in web design. Having a tool like CSSVista available for free use is a great learning tool if you are just getting into CSS development. Trust me you won’t be disappointed by this software.

Got something to say?

I’ve been a fan of CSSVista ever since I discovered it last year. I love the live editing!
Hi Jason,
Yeah the Live edit way it does what it does is almost as good as MacRabbit’s CSSEdit 2… too bad they don’t make a windows version
